Ashfield Community Involvement Award
  • Will be attending College, University or an apprenticeship
  • The applicant must have financial challenges (most important criteria)
  • Has demonstrated school and/or community involvement
  • Has attained a minimum of 70% average 
*****A reflective essay (500 words max), outlining school/community involvement, future academic plans, how the award would assist with any financial challenges associated with attending a post-secondary program, and any other information as needed to support your nomination

Director of Education Graduate Student Award
  • High academic average in grades 11 and 12
  • Has community service hours above and beyond the 40 required hours
  • Has consistently demonstrated positive social attitudes throughout high school
  • Has consistently exemplified the expectations of the Ontario Catholic School Graduate
  • A self directed, responsible, life-long learner who demonstrates his/her God-Given potential
  • A caring individual who attends to family, school, parish and to the wider community
  • Has been accepted at a university or college

Catholic Graduate Expectations Award
  • The applicant is expected to be a discerning believer, a collaborative contributor, a caring family member, a responsible citizen and an effective communicator
  • Has participated in school, community and parish initiatives throughout high school
  • Has attained a minimum of 75% average in grade 12 and must be Catholic
Each applicant must write an (150-300 word) essay reflecting on the statement, “My Catholic high school experience has helped me see my place in the world, reflect on my place in the world, and respond to my place in the world in light of our Gospel values of love, community, dignity of persons, stewardship for creation, justice and excellence.” 

    *3 applicants will be interviewed

Ottawa Catholic Trustee – Student Service Award
  • Has demonstrated extensive involvement in school activities for at least 3 years 
  • Has demonstrated community involvement and/or fundraising involvement 
  • Has taken initiative and demonstrated leadership 
  • Has applied to college or university

Archbishop’s Award For Catholic Leadership
  • Exemplify dedication to spiritual and social growth within his/her parish
  • Has participated in school and parish events that have enhanced the identity of the Catholic high school.

Director of Education Award for Academic Perseverance
  • Awarded to a graduating student who has demonstrated perseverance throughout their secondary education, in order to achieve academic success. 
  • To be selected, a student must: 
  • Have persevered in the completion of all the requirements for obtaining an OSS diploma, including the community service component. 
  • Have demonstrated courage and determination while facing and overcoming adversity.

Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program Award
  • Graduating students who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in their OYAP.
  • Applicants must have completed all of the requirements for obtaining an OSS Diploma, including the community service component.

Destination Employability Award
  • Applicants who have completed all the requirements mandatory for obtaining an OSS Diploma, or an OSS Certificate, and demonstrated a special talent for their chosen pathway.
  • Particular focus, but without limiting such focus, will be given to students who:
  • Have demonstrated special dedication to pursuing a career directly after high school; Have attained outstanding achievement in the view of their employers and cooperative education teachers; Have demonstrated a well-rounded achievement in their education and community involvement; Have been successful in their chosen pathway.

Walking Towards Reconciliation
  • Student who has been involved in an initiative, project or event that has tried to encourage reconciliation.
  • Have demonstrated, through actions and behaviours, an appreciation for the value of Indigenous cultures to Canadian society.
  • Have demonstrated empathy and understanding of the culture, perspectives and/or history of Indigenous peoples.
$1000 (1 per school)

Edward J. Cuhaci & Associates Architects Award
  • OSS graduate student from the Ottawa Catholic School Board.
  • Planning to take a post-secondary program in the design/architectural studies field, college or university.
  • Achievement in design/architectural related courses in high school

Sens Foundation Scholarship Program
  • Student has applied to a full-time post-secondary program at Algonquin College Student must include a two-page summary outlining the following:
  • a. strong academic achievements;
  • b. demonstrated involvement in the community;
  • c. demonstrated participation in sport activities and strong teamwork skills; and
  • d. demonstrated passion for their Algonquin College field of study.
$1000 towards Algonquin College tuition

Shepherds of Good Hope
  • Has directly benefited community members who access Shepherds of Good Hope services (e.g.volunteering at Shepherds of Good Hope through your school, food drives specifically for Shepherds of Good Hope, making sandwiches specifically for Shepherds of Good Hope etc., third party events that directly benefit Shepherds of Good Hope).
  • Has positively impacted the community by volunteering their time at school or in the community.
  • Has completed all the requirements for obtaining an Ottawa Secondary School Diploma.

Your Credit Union for Overall Achievement Award
  • Students selected for consideration of the award should:
  • Have demonstrated strong work ethic, community or school involvement. Have need of financial assistance to pursue his/her education goals whether at college or university level.
  • Attach a brief description of your merits based on the selection criteria. Include one reference from a teacher, employer or community leader.

  • Applicants must have completed all the requirements for obtaining an OSS diploma, including the community service component.
  • Planning to take a post-secondary program in college or university. 
  • 3. Applicants are requested to write a short essay on managing debt for their anticipated post- secondary costs, this could include credit card, student loan or any other type of debt management.
