3. Thinking of a Career in the Military?
Paid Education Programs Are Available in the Canadian Armed Forces
Did you know that enrolling in a Paid Education program in the Canadian Armed Forces means, you can start a career with the right training and without student debt?
Our Paid Education programs include, the Regular Officer Training Plan to become a military Officer. Your education starts by entering the Canadian Military College system. The benefits of graduation include the security of both a university degree and employment.
As well, there are additional programs the military has to offer besides attending university. It is also possible to take an accredited program at a local college through our Non-Commissioned Member Subsidized Education Plan. Candidates can gain specific skills in a trade or field for a career that is in demand in the Forces.
One of the main questions about Paid Education programs is usually: how long does a person have to serve in the military following completion? In return for the Forces paying for your studies, you are required to serve for a period of time following graduation. Time served is calculated on the basis of two months service for each month of paid education.
The Forces also have Specialized Training available. If you are thinking of becoming a Doctor, Dentist, Pilot or Social Worker in the military, there are programs specific to these occupations that are offered through specific educational institutions.
All candidates will have to complete Basic Training regardless of the profession that is selected. Officer cadets will need to complete 14 weeks of basic military training, while non-commissioned members will be required to complete a 12-week course.
The military offers over 100 career options that are comparable to occupations in the corporate and civilian world. These careers require training that could be eligible for our Paid Education programs. Check out the wide variety of occupations that are available in the Army, Navy and Air Force.
Apply online and start the process towards a military career today.
